Tony Wilkinson

Consultant Podiatric Surgeon

As one of the UK’s leading Podiatric Surgeons and with more than 20 years of experience in the field of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Tony has undertaken more than 15,000 surgical procedures during his career and has recently received his Fellowship for his dedication to Foot Surgery.

Tony graduated from the Northern College of Podiatry in 1990 and quickly became interested in the surgical aspect of the profession.

Following completion of his MPodA exam in 1994 he began training as a Podiatric Surgeon in South Derbyshire gaining Fellowship to the Podiatry Association in 1997.

Continuing his training as a Specialist Registrar in Podiatric Surgery, he was appointed as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon in 2000.

He is employed as Consultant and Clinical Head of Podiatric Surgery with Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Tony was elected Dean of the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery in 2009, a post which he held for 3 years. During his time he was responsible for leading the strategic development of the profession on behalf of the College of Podiatry.

More recently Tony was elected to Fellowship of The Faculty of Podiatric Medicine at The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow.

Fellowship is a demonstration of commitment to the College and an acknowledgement of an individual’s contribution to Podiatric Medicine, it’s Standards and Practice.

With a strong passion for progression Tony has built a solid reputation for Clinical excellence and is committed to providing the best care possible.

Tony has lectured at many National and International conferences and has published a number of papers in peer reviewed journals.

As one of the UK’s leading Podiatric Surgeons and with more than 30 years of experience in both the conservative and surgical management of a wide range of foot conditions.

Steve qualified with a Diploma in Podiatric Medicine in 1989 and following extensive post graduate training, he was awarded his Podiatric Surgical Fellowship in 1995, to take up his first NHS Consultant post  in 1998.
