Podiatry

family-feet“My husband has been having dreadful achilles problems, my son has knee problems from playing footie and Osgood-Schlatters in his youth, and his partner has knee trouble too. Fortunately, not far away are our friendly neighbourhood podiatrist and chiropractor Jonathan Stanley and Tomer Gilboa respectively, at The Lawrence Clinic, Pudsey. It’s amazing what can be done to alleviate and even cure these problems. The proper treatment and orthotic supports can make a huge difference – and have certainly done so for us.

“The thing is, almost all footwear now, and particularly field/hiking boots, all have pre-formed footbeds – but we don’t all need the same support in the same places – and these footbeds can cause more harm than good. If you have any back, knee, ankle, foot or achilles problems, get yourself to a good podiatrist and have orthotic supports made for you. Then remove all pre-shaped footbeds and replace with something that will really support your foot. The difference is amazing!

“Also, if your young son is diagnosed with Osgood-Schlatters don’t wait – as the medics will tell you – for him to grow out of it. This will stop him taking part in sport and only cause more problems later on. Take them to a good podiatrist straight away.”
